Bible - We utilize the Little Lambs Bible series, which includes simple stories and memory verses from, both, the Old and New Testaments. The Bible cards include a family component for parents to do at home with their children. We reinforce the Bible story cards with additional stories, daily Bible verse practice, and crafts. We also use American Sign Language to learn stories.
Math - The focus is on recognizing, writing, and counting numbers 0-12. We also identify colors and shapes. The preschoolers are also introduced to basic patterns, counting school days and the number of days of each month. We learn numbers, including using a numeral, word, five-frame, ten-frame, fingers (including American Sign Language), tally marks, number lines, dice, dominoes, and pictures.
Science - Students learn science through inviting curiosity and supporting further exploration, mostly through play.  Concepts we focus on include observing, comparing, measuring, inferring, and predicting.  Topics covered include weather, life cycles of plants and animals, parts of the body, our five senses, and more!
Writing - Preschoolers are emerging writers, often experiencing their first attempts at the writing process through drawing, scribbling, tracing, making different kinds of lines, etc. Our classroom focuses on developing good fine motor skills and learning how to recognize, trace, and write our first names, letters, and basic numbers.
Reading -  The preschool classroom engages children in a print-rich environment that includes songs and nursery rhymes to build phonemic awareness while listening to stories. We play with letters and letter sounds in various formats, including the use of songs and ASL. We also learn about how books work (parts of the book, reading left to right, turning pages, etc). Preschoolers also learn about reading and recognizing basic sight words through daily messages and teacher-modeled writing.
Social Studies - Our classroom gives many children their first sense of community outside of the home. The children learn about manners, empathy, taking turns, sharing, decision-making, making friends, and how to be a good friend. We also learn about families, the seasons, and various holidays. Preschoolers learn all subjects best through play, so we make sure to play as much as possible!
Foreign Language - The children learn basic American Sign Language (ASL), including the alphabet, numbers, color words, shapes, simple Bible verses, and basic words and phrases.
Technology - We use the SmartBoard during snack time for daily songs that reinforce the letters, colors, shapes, and numbers we are learning.
Physical Education - The students get their PE and gross motor practice through music and movement in the classroom during circle time. They also spend time outdoors on the playground for recess. If the weather is not cooperative, the gym is used for indoor recess games.
Art - The children are immersed in art projects throughout the day to work on their fine motor skills. We also encourage creative expression through media such as play dough, finger paints, watercolors, acrylic paints, pom poms, pony beads, tissue paper, and more!
Music -  The children attend music class with our music teacher weekly. They also sing and dance during daily circle time and at snack time.
