Welcome to The DCS Website!

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Delavan Christian School. As we greet returning families and new families, we know that the coming year is full of opportunities for learning, growing and making new friends.

Our mission for the coming year remains a commitment “to provide for the children of the Christian community a quality education firmly rooted in God’s Word.” Each student is a unique individual, created in the image of God, with a variety of gifts and abilities. We look forward to finding each child’s starting point and helping him/her to move ahead to reach his/her greatest potential. We have four new teachers joining us this year to fill positions in 2nd grade, Music, Technology and Spanish. These educators bring experience and fresh approaches to learning, as they teach a classic curriculum with a Christian worldview.

The re-accreditation cycle is complete after our site visit this past year. It was a lot of hard work, but the process of reviewing all of our standards and practices was valuable in all aspects of education at DCS. We are eager to continue moving forward with new goals that reach out for the next five years. Congratulations to our staff, board, and parent volunteers for completing the accreditation process and finding our school “approved” and accredited by the Wisconsin Religious and Independent Schools Association!

Our theme for the 2016-2017 school year is “Go Fish.” In Matthew 4:19, we read of Jesus calling disciples to follow Him, and He would make them “fishers of men.”  Each month, we will learn about someone who has answered God’s call to be a “fisher of people,” and think about ways that each of us can share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. The Peace and Hope that we know through Jesus is just too great not to share it with others.

We are happy to welcome back all of the returning DCS families to a new year of learning and give a special welcome to all of the new families who have joined us this year. I pray that this new year is nothing short of incredible.
